"Heroes" is a cover of [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgcc5V9Hu3g the Davie Bowie song.] This song has significance to the beginning of Depeche Mode; Composition of Sound (comprising Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher, and Vince Clarke) heard Dave singing the song at a rehearsal ([[1980-04-xx Rehearsal, Woodlands School, Basildon, Essex, England, UK]]) and were impressed with Dave's performance. The band covered it live at least twice during promotion for the Global Spirit Tour so far; the first instance was a live performance at New York's Highline Stages, on August 3rd 2016. That performance was recorded and filmed, but is yet to be released.

Martin and I are both huge fans, and still are. So it just seemed right, Martin was into it. It's got a real early Depeche flavour to it."
