As Kevin Klein explains in the beginning of the clip, Kevin Klein was supposed to interview Martin Gore over the phone live on his morning show. Unfortunately either DM's management or Live 105 FM made a mistake by exchanging "AM" for "PM", so DM's management had scheduled the interview on the night before. This meant that the show's producer named Dead Eyes had to record it in the evening. He asked Martin about his view on recent political turmoils, fatherhood, the abundance of electronic music nowadays, and the influence of DM's drug past on their music, until the interview was suddenly wrapped up by the management.

Live 105 uploaded the entire interview on their site, and wrote down a few quotes from the interview:

"I would like to be able to say that when I wrote the songs, I had already predicted that Trump was gonna take power and he was gonna make all these executive orders and he was gonna try and turn back the clock 50 years, but obviously I didn't know any of that when I was writing these songs. I just knew that the world was in a mess and humanity had lost it's way. [...] But, as the way things have turned out, the album couldn’t be more timely now."

"[Being a rule enforcer on my kids is] not something I'm comfortable with."

"I don't know [if drugs ever helped fuel Depeche Mode's creativity]. [...] I feel like [in sobriety] I've definitely got more time to spend working on stuff." (laughing)
