1 + 2 is the debut extended play by Recoil and the first solo work to be released by Alan Wilder after joining Depeche Mode in 1982. It was originally released on vinyl only on August 18, 1986 by Mute Records, later released on CD and cassette two years later to coincide with Recoil's sophomore album Hydrology.
