Dave Gahan, vocalista del grupo Depeche Mode, habló desde Nueva York con La W a propósito del lanzamiento de su nuevo álbum “Sounds of the universe”, una nueva producción creada tras culminar su álbum en solitario y que reunió a la banda de nuevo después de varios años de separación.

“Después de mi álbum me tomé un receso y tiempo después nos reunimos con los demás en mi estudio en Nueva York para componer y tocar. No habíamos hablado de hacer otro C.D, pero sabíamos que en ese punto era inevitable. Recogimos más de 20 temas en un año después, y finalmente lo logramos”, expresó el cantante.

Tras 20 años en la escena musical, Depeche Mode ha influenciado inevitablemente a otras bandas, pero Dave Gahan revela que algunas bandas actuales también le han ayudado a encontrar inspiración. “El grupo MGMT con una propuesta fresca y emocionante influyó mucho en mi composición” afirmo Gahan, y confeso su gusto por otras bandas como The Killers, aunque confesó que no compra muchos discos.

El cantante no descarto una posible gira por Latinoamérica y una visita a Colombia. “El año pasado estuvimos en México y nos dimos cuenta de la fuerte acogida latina por el grupo, por lo que nos parece que vale la pena visitar algunos países de Suramérica” concluyó Gahan.

Dave Gahan, Depeche Mode`s singer, talks from new york with "the W" (radio) about the launch of their new album "Sounds of The Universe", a new production created right after finish his solo-album, this album reunite the band again after some years of separation.

"After my album i take a break and some time later we reunite with the band on my New York studio to play and compose. We didnt talk about make another album, but we know that in this point was inevitable. We got more than 20 tracks 1 year later and finally we made it, says the singer.

After 20 years on musical scene, Depeche Mode has been a influence in other bands, Dave Gahan reveals that some bands also has been influence to him and helped him to find inspiration. "MGMT" band with a fresh and emotional propose has been a big influence in my composition, Gahan says, and he also confess he like so much other bands like The Killers, but he said that doesnt buy so much discs.

The singer didnt discard a latin-america tour and also a visit to Colombia. "Last year we went to Mexico and we feel very welcomed by the latino fans that love the band, we think it's worth it to visit some countries in South America, Gahan concludes.
