Dave Gahan said in the 1986 Star Hits Seriously Cool Scrapbook:
"The last time we were there in 1985, we played the sports arena and all the gay people came down front. All the other gigs on the tour it would be all girls - some of 'em even taking off their knickers - but then we get to San Francisco and there's all these guys looking up and giving me stuff animals and stuff. It was pretty weird, but great!"
