A very good soundboard recording. It is inherently lossy because KROQ used an MPEG delay in both the soundboard feed and the FM broadcast feed (see BRAT's post on Home here).

Many tracks were reworked as acoustic versions, so this recording is a must-have. Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins joins to sing lead vocals and play guitar during "Never Let Me Down Again"; The Smashing Pumpkins had covered the song on the For The Masses tribute album.

The only FM broadcast recording I've happened upon is extremely loud with zero dynamic range.

There have been many represses of this silver CD bootleg "Depeche Mode - Live In Los Angeles 12/12/98" (BRAT Productions LCDMUTEL5). However, BRAT (webmaster of depechemode.com) had absolutely nothing to do with this bootleg. Not only that, the catalog number used by the bootleg label (LCDMUTEL5) is one for a box set including "The Singles 81>85" and "The Singles 86>98".
