This guide assumes you are running Windows.
Prerequisites
You will need:
- foobar2000
- foo_dsp_resampler (download the "normal version", foo_dsp_resampler_0.8.3.zip)
Installing
- Install foobar2000. The default settings are sufficient, just advance through the pages.
- Open foobar2000.
- Go to File -> Preferences -> "Components" tab.
- Click "Install..."
- Find the foo_dsp_resampler_0.8.3.zip file and select it, then click "Open".
- Click "Accept" on the dialog box that pops up.
- Click "OK", then "OK "again.
Converting to WAV format
- Drag and drop the files you wish to convert into foobar2000.
- If the tracks are not already selected, select them all.
- Right click anywhere in the selected area.
- Mouse over "Convert", then click "..."
- Click "Output format".
- From the list, select "WAV". Click "Edit".
- Click "Back".
- Click "Processing".
- Scroll to the right under the "Available DSPs" box and double click on "Resampler (SoX)".
- Click on "Configure selected".
- In the dialog box, click the dropdown box next to "Quality" and select "Best". Click "OK".
- Click "Back".
- Click "Convert".
- When asked to pick a directory to place the converted files in, create a directory and double click it, then click OK.
- Wait for the files to finish converting. This may take several minutes depending on your computer's speed, and how long the recording being converted is.
- You now have uncompressed, lossless WAV files of whichever recording you converted. These WAV files are ready to be burned to an audio CD.
- If you need to convert more recordings, start the process again from step 5, but instead click [last used] in the "Converter" context menu.
Now you may follow the Burning audio CDs guide; burn the converted fileset as an "Audio disc" in CDBurnerXP.
