Notes

A good sounding audience recording sourced from a CD-R copy of a low-generation tape. Generally, this copy is much clearer and better sounding than the prior version, but it still has some distortion overall and is rather hissy.

This source includes a complete version of Dreaming Of Me, which was incomplete on the previously available version. Additionally, it includes the encore song, The Price Of Love, which was not represented previously.

This recording was most likely transferred to CD-R by Steve Doughty, who sadly passed away in 2020.

This cassette appears to have been digitized on a deck with the playback head out of adjustment. As a result, the audio from the CD-R had excessively boomy sounding bass, very little treble, clicks & pops throughout, very slow playback speed, and volume inconsistencies.

To address these issues, heavy equalization was applied to reduce the extreme boominess and bring out the treble to a good amount, while minimizing the amplification of hiss. De-click processing was used to eliminate most of the unusual pops & clicks, though some still remain. Additionally, the speed was corrected, and levels adjusted where possible to make the recording mostly consistent in volume overall.

Unfortunately, the source tape was discarded after digital transfer to CD-R, so a fresh transfer cannot be performed to correct the inherent issues with this transfer.

The A-side of the tape, which covers the first two-thirds of Tora! Tora! Tora!, generally sounds better than the B-side, which contains the remainder of the recording. Tora! Tora! Tora! was split across tape sides; most of the song was available from side A, so that audio was retained and completed with the complete copy of the song from side B.

Because of the duplicated audio across the tape sides, the lowest generation this recording can be is first.

Many thanks to Steve Doughty's wife who generously took the time to rip the CD-R. Steve's website is still available here.

Thanks also to Robert for corresponding with Steve's wife to acquire this audio.
