A very good FM broadcast recording. The songs contained here are from the TOTU tour rehearsals, because Wrong and Walking In My Shoes later appeared as bonuses on the "Tour Of The Universe" DVD. The interviews were likely done around the time of the original FM broadcast date of July 10, 2009. There was then a first FM rebroadcast on September 14, 2009, and then the source for this recording was the second FM rebroadcast on December 31, 2009 as part of a "Best Of 2009" series.

And, this same FM broadcast content was available to stream on NPR's website along with a bonus track ("Come Back"). That source was captured in its original MP3 128kbps format and split into tracks, and is available at Source 3.
Furthermore, the FM broadcast content, along with "Come Back" as an web-only outtake, was streamable on NPR's website. This source was captured in its original MP3 128kbps format and split into tracks, and can be found as Source 3.

Of all three sources, Source 1 (the pre-FM) is the best sounding, because it does not have any FM radio dynamic range compression applied, it seems less lossy than the 128kbps MP3 webstream version, and it has none of the slight clipping that the webstream MP3 version has.
Among the three sources, Source 1 (the pre-FM) offers the best sound quality in my opinion, as it lacks FM radio dynamic range compression and appears to be less lossy compared to the 128kbps MP3 webstream version. Neither does it suffer from the slight clipping issues present on that one.

Notes

A very good FM broadcast recording. The interviews were likely conducted around the time of the original FM broadcast on July 10, 2009. Subsequently, there was a first FM rebroadcast on September 14, 2009, and the source for this particular recording comes from the second FM rebroadcast on December 31, 2009, as part of a "Best Of 2009" series.

Please note that there is a pre-FM CD source, available at Source 1, which includes only the songs (plus "Come Back", which was not included in the FM broadcast) and excludes the interviews. Unfortunately, the recording appears to be lossy-encoded based on spectrogram analysis.

Furthermore, the FM broadcast content, along with "Come Back" as an web-only outtake, was streamable on NPR's website. This source was captured in its original MP3 128kbps format and split into tracks, and can be found as Source 3.

Among the three sources, Source 1 (the pre-FM) offers the best sound quality in my opinion, as it lacks FM radio dynamic range compression and appears to be less lossy compared to the 128kbps MP3 webstream version. Neither does it suffer from the slight clipping issues present on that one.
