Well established as one of Britain's foremost electro-pop bands, by the mid-1980s Depeche Mode's music had taken a darker turn. Spawning the hits 'Stripped' and 'A Question Of Time', the album kick-started the Mode's metamorphosis into stadium-filling world superstars.
