Notes

Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top was in attendance. In November 2015, Billy said to Rolling Stone magazine:

I went to see them one night, and it was a mind-bender. No guitars, no drums. It was all coming from the machines. But they had blues threads going through their stuff. I went backstage; I had to meet these guys. They were surprised — "What brings you here?" I said, "Man, the heaviness." We became friends. Martin Gore was a guitar player trapped behind the synthesizers. He was like, "Man, let's talk guitar."

Martin Gore in a DM special in 1987:

“I once wore a cowboy hat, dress, stockings and suspenders when we were in Texas, and thought that might provoke them. But in fact it went down really well. They liked it, which only goes to prove you can get away with anything in this game!”

Book Of Love was the support act.

  • Source 1 is a very good audience recording, probably sourced from a low generation copy.
  • Source 2 is R.H's very good master audience recording. Unfortunately, it is very incomplete, starting about two minutes into Somebody.
