Notes
According to Billboard and Lansing State Journal, this concert had an attendance of 11,237 out of 14,100 people, and the band grossed $288,848.
Here is Daryl Bamonte's entry for the famous Devotional Tour Diary, published in Bong magazine in 1994:
A Saturday night in Detroit, just did two great shows here (Friday and Saturday) and it’s our security company’s home town so we’ve been to the best clubs and been very well looked after etc. Then during a room party afterwards, David Gahan, the most accident-prone man in the world, did something that a bizillion people do every day – he opened a bottle of beer. Except Dave somehow managed to cut his finger off as well.
BONG Magazine issue #20, published in April 1994, elaborated:
Dave cut himself between his index and middle finger when he was trying to open a bottle of beer after the concert in Detroit on October 23. The wound required five stitches at the Emergency Room of the Dearborn hospital. The concert on the following day had to be cancelled because, as David explained, it was very painful for him to perform the concert properly.
The The was the support act.
