Excited to see these SD shows with my sister. Enjoyed the week staying in San Diego checking out all the old spots when I lived there. I had never seen a show at the "Sports Arena" but I had always heard that it's notorious for terrible sound. Being built in the late 60's there is obviously room for improvement here. One thing I noticed when we got in is the stage was truncated to fit the arena floor. The catwalk was also shortened. They started a bit early (8:30) compared to an 8:45 start, so I was a bit thrown off. Thankfully, I had already hit record on the audio recording a lot earlier than that.

The show, as usual, was fantastic. I was really hoping to hear Speak To Me make it back in to the setlist again at one of these two dates in SD. As this is the first city to have two nights, if you don't count NYC having MSG and Brooklyn. Martin had some issues with his mic after A Question Of Lust where there was a slight delay to the start of Strangelove to receive the back up mic. There was some static from the PA during AQOL.

The Sports Arena did not disappoint on holding up to its expectation of bad sound. The sound was pretty bad from where we sat. You could hear some clap back of the sound hitting the back wall. Even though they had sound suppressors at the top of the arena. If it were any other arena, probably a good tape. I basically used the audience tape on this one for some ambient noise and it's a bit buried in the matrix.

Enjoy the tape if you download. I am still happy with the results. The arena is really the rate limiting step here.
