A very good FM broadcast recording.

There are occasional instances of FM interference, small dropouts that sometimes cause noticeable glitches between tracks, and slight quality degradations from signal loss. However, it's a pretty consistent-sounding recording.

About a second or so during the intro of In Your Room is affected by static noise, and a second or two of Never Let Me Down Again is missing due to a dropout. Otherwise, this is a complete recording of the broadcast.

Only the first three tracks were supposed to be aired, as is common with press broadcasts. However, that is not what ensued. The mixing desk did not switch off the broadcast feed after the first three tracks, and the announcers just went with it.

There are occasional FM broadcast watermarks. The announcers sometimes sound amateurish, blabbering over the beginnings and ends of songs. Their speech is inconsistent and sometimes messy. At one point after Never Let Me Down Again, they began to speak incoherently. Many thanks to satellite0fhate for providing a complete transcript, portions of which are reproduced below.

At the start of the broadcast, the announcer hinted at the unofficial nature of the transmission:

"This is about to start, we don't know how we managed to do it, but we're going to broadcast it to you. We're going to start as it was official for me (?). We start with the 'Metro Sound' just like yesterday. Spectacular. For your enjoyment, the Depeche Mode show. We may cut off halfway through, and that's because we're clandestine. But it doesn't matter. Fede, this is imminent."

"People hold up their mobile phones. And this is the official clandestine broadcast of Depeche Mode in Argentina. They come out, they come out clapping, all in black, on stage. They're excited. They're looking great. Gentlemen, we leave you with Depeche Mode on 'Metro'."

"We've already got a song in and it's going to keep going like this, we're doing everything to keep you having this broadcast on 'Metro'."

They were at the venue and even announced that they were hidden behind the mixing desk with the light turned off. At the beginning of Somebody, the announcer noted:

"The return is imminent and there's a track coming, one of the best slower ones you can listen to. It doesn't sound like Depeche Mode, it's sung by Martin Gore. That's what we've got on the set list, Somebody is coming."

"There you go, from what I hear they're coming in again. We're still on this broadcast, hooked up to the cable. No, no, I mean that as a joke. Here, in full... this broadcast, Depeche Mode... Why are you under the table? ...live. Unbelievable, people are really lit up tonight of course, with these songs..."

"They are now coming back on stage. You can send us an email to envivo [at] metro951 [dot] com or... there's another email address but we can't give it out because it's a clandestine one we have. Gentlemen, Martin Gore is on stage. Martin Gore is on front of stage, he's going to sing Somebody, what a great moment awaits us, Fede, huh."

At the beginning of "Behind The Wheel", they were discovered and had to end the broadcast, but they sure got a lot more than was expected!

The announcers had to abruptly conclude the broadcast, commenting on the situation:

"We've got some bad news and some good news. The good news is that this is sounding amazing. The bad news is that we have to shut down this 'Metro' broadcast of Depeche Mode."

"We gave you a lot more than we thought we were going to, thank you for being there, Fede. Nothing else to add, thank you very much Andy and well, thank you very much to all the people who followed us closely on the radio. Thanks for being there and please forgive us, 'Behind the Wheel,' what's coming next and Personal Jesus are equally good. Thanks for being there. Bye..."

"Stop, stop, stop, stop, don't take me off the air yet, I'm still talking, stop, stop, stop.... Whatever we can give you we'll give you. This is Depeche Mode and 'Behind the Wheel', we can't give it to you because we have to go, we can't give it to you. But I'm saying goodbye, I'm saying goodbye... relax."
