2009-07-09 Bilbao BBK Live Festival, Bilbao, Spain
Notes
This was the last time that Peace was played live. According to Michael Lyons, Andy Fletcher's brother-in-law, two out of three band members wanted to stop performing this song. They discussed replacing it with 'In Sympathy', but it seems that they did not follow through with this. They tried replacing it with 'Fragile Tension' for one night but were not satisfied with it. So they put Policy Of Truth (which was already being played every night) in its slot, and then put a rotating "Martin Gore solo" track in the remaining empty slot.
During this concert, Dave Gahan tore his calf muscle, meaning that the consecutive two concerts, 2009-07-11 Super Bock Super Rock Festival, Porto, Portugal and 2009-07-12 Olimpic Stadium, Sevilla, Spain had to be cancelled. Dave told Cafe Magazine in 2013:
"I pulled my calf muscle. I was jumping around on stage and suddenly it felt like someone had thrown a rock at my leg. I could not put my foot down. Chris, our drummer, looked at me in the middle of the drum section while I was jumping around on one leg, pointing at my calf and mouthed the words "I CAN'T PUT MY FOOT DOWN". There were three songs left and we managed to finish the show. The stage had a hard cement floor and it turned out that I had torn my entire calf muscle."
NOTE: This concert was officially released by Live Here Now and at one point sold on the official depechemodelive.com, which is currently defunct. Concerts with LHN releases generally do not have audience recordings widely circulating, and as such there may not be a recording available on this website for this concert.
