This category lists recordings which are "pre-FM" recordings, which are sourced from the original media used during FM radio broadcasts, such as reel-to-reel tapes, vinyl transcription discs, or compact discs. Such recordings are typically more complete and have improved quality over FM broadcast recordings as they have a lower generation, and oftentimes will not have DJ chatter or radio station watermarks that would be heard on the FM broadcast variants.
